Greetings from the President

chapelwindowlight.jpgdavidjones.jpgGreetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! My name is David Lee Jones, the director of the Doctor of Ministry Program at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary since 2003. In April of this year, I was re-elected president of the Association for Doctor of Ministry Education (ADME), but I became a believer in ADME’s helpfulness after attending my first ADME conference in 2004. It was then that I first experienced the rich benefits of this association. The workshop for first time directors offered many helpful pointers on how to address the many varied demands of this unique vocation and was tremendously helpful as I navigated the rigors of my new position.

ADME meets annually (usually in April) at participating seminaries to provide conferences with distinguished keynote speakers whose research is germane to our work. We offer venues to dialogue about our discipline, present peer reviewed papers, discuss matters related to ATS accreditation and assessment of student learning outcomes, and offer workshops of interest to those in the field of D.Min. education. Additionally, we are committed to maintaining a close  relationship with the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) in order to keep our members abreast of DMIN accrediting issues.  We invite an ATS representative to every annual ADME conference.

Whether you are already a longstanding member of ADME or new to D.Min. education, I encourage you to join with ADME in support of D.Min. education and to attend our excellent annual conferences. In addition, we welcome you to submit papers for The Journal of Christian Ministry.

We hope you find the newly revised web page to be both informative and helpful. We value suggestions on how to make the site a more useful resource.

I would be glad to try to answer any questions or be of further assistance to you and your program. Please feel free to contact me at: djones@austinseminary.edu.

Blessings and Peace in your ministry,

David Lee Jones, Th.D.
